Let's do an example. Let's say you're selling a course on how to get rich by investing in
the stock market.

A second story that is also good for using in sales letters is what I call the “Accident”
plot. In this case, it's perfect to use if, by accident, you or the person you're writing copy
for “stumbled” on the solution.
This is a good plot because it appeals to the “average joe” in the market. The idea is to
get them to think that if you, an average Joe just like them, can do postly review by accident, then
they will be able to do it
on purpose.
Plus, it's a great way to build in proof that your stuff works.
Here's an example. Let's say one day you were out on the golf course. The day before you
had suffered a leg injury, so you couldn't tee off the way you normally did. So you had to

But when you stepped up to the first tee, you launched your drive 235 yards, dead center
on the fairway. You thought you had just gotten lucky. But you did it again and again

The key word there is “might,” because that’s where testing comes into play.

the message I’m trying to convey as a whole.
That’s the same approach I showed in Figure 7 above. In that DOE, I could have just split
tested the new price with the same sales letter otherwise unchanged (and I would likely
do that
also). But with a wholistic approach, I’m looking at the bigger picture. Because a
straight split test might be a failure in terms of raising my price and hoping for a bigger
ROI. But when I include the other elements to test in my DOE, I may get better results.
Or I may get worse. Such is the nature of testing.
Sometimes that approach works for me, other times it just muddies the waters.
When Science Meets ArtIf you do enough testing, you’re going to find that a lot of changes have a negligible
effect on conversion, and sometimes results aren’t reproducible.
That’s because there are so many factors that go into why a visitor decides to make a
purchase
at that precise moment in time.
Given enough visitors (samples), the results tend to be more statistically valid, but you
must be careful not to overanalyze your targeting academy review.
Everything from the time of day and day of the week to the weather at your prospect’s
location probably has an influence of sorts, but much of it will be in the form of “noise.”
This is where you can go a little bit overboard with your analysis.

Ideally, we want to find a niche that has what I call “reasonable competition”. Too little

for. Too much competition means it's too hard to enter into the market and get attention. 
In other words don't go after “weight loss”, but at the same time don't go after “weight 
loss for 86 year old Russian widows”. Here's my quick formula – pick a super 
competitive niche, and then sub niche. A good sub niche for weight loss would be 
“weight loss without exercise” or 'weight loss with herbal supplements” or “weight loss 
without dieting” etc.

might be “how to approach women”. Picking up women entails approaching them,
