8.) Needing more money I saw a guy on eBay selling
hydroponic equipment for credi response review. Didn’t loo k hard to
build so I started building and selling my own.
9.) I sold some hydroponic equipment to a guy named Seth , in
Hampton Virginia. I offered phone support to my custome rs
and Seth called a few times needing help. The support turned
into a friendship and from then on we kept in contact. It was
my first long distance bromance.
Seth repaired video game machines for a living. When I found
out how much money he was making doing that I asked how
much he would charge to teach me. “Don’t worry about pa ying
me,” he said, “I’ll text you a list of things to buy. Bu y them and
put an ad up on Craigslist offering the repairs. As soon as you
get your first Xbox in, call me and I’ll walk you through it.”
Skeptical, I put an ad on Craigslist offering the services . That
same day I got 5 calls from people needing their xBox’s
repaired. Because I really wasn't prepared to offer the repair
services yet I told the callers there was a typo in the phon
number on the ad that I didn’t offer those services. The very
next day I got the things on the list and literally with in 24 hours
I had taken in and repaired my first Xbox RROD and put $50
cold hard cash in my pocket.
10.) The console repairs took off, and I no longer had time to
build the hydroponic equipment, but I still had lots of traffic to
my website. I contacted the hydroponic competition and
worked out a deal where I would send all my traffic to him and
he would pay me $50-$200 per order I referred to him .
11.) The more Craigslist ads I had up pimping out my re pair
services the more money I made. But when I put up too ma ny
ads Craigslist would start to delete them. I needed to learn
how to post more ads on Craigslist, so I spent $67 for a
training course claiming to teach me how to post lots of ads
without them being deleted. The training course was 7 videos
explaining the whole process. I thought ‘dang, I can rem ake
those videos for myself and charge others for the same info I
just paid for’. So I did, but I took it to the credi response review. I made it a 24 video series with greater detail, and added a suppor t forum
where people could post their questions if they needed h elp.
Instead of $67 I charged $15 per month for access to my sit e.
12.) Over the next year I got up to about 157 monthly p aying
members on my craigslist site. I was waking up every morning
with $80-$100 in my PayPal account from my website
members and with 1-3 repairs to complete every day. I cou ld
spend a day doing nothing and make $100 or do a couple
repairs and a hydroponic sale and be sitting on a $400 d ay.
Life was good. I had passive hydroponic money trickling in,
passive money from my membership site, and was banging
out repairs left and right.
13.) I read the book The 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss a nd
was floored. It was like reading a story of what I had a lways
dreamed of from that very first money porn magazine I go t my
hands on. Here was a book about a man who works less than
4 hours per week and makes millions of dollars per year.
Having my first taste of having passive income strolling in
every day without me lifting a finger made me feel lik e I had
arrived. The book inspired me and because of my pride I
thought I had already arrived. I was foolish. Little di d I know, I
was a short time away from having to punch a clock again. It
was like the book gave me the key to the escape hatch but I
stuck it in a pocket that had a hole in it. I was missing t he
biggest point in the book the author was making.
13.) I found some articles online about Craigslist suing
companies who made software designed to post ads on their
site. I didn’t like so much of my income coming from a web site
that taught people how to circumvent Craigslist terms and
conditions, and didn't want to get sued. I agonized over it for
months because I loved the residual income. Ultimately, i
fear of how pissed my wife would be If I got served court
papers, I shut down that site with a heavy heart, but I was now
addicted to the passive internet money. I knew then that is
what I truly was working towards. I would get it back!
14.) To try to recapture that internet money I decided to create
a training course on how to launch a video game repair
business from home, then sell it online just like I did w ith the
Craigslist course. Spent 4 months creating that course and
started selling it.
15.) My wife got sick of people we didn’t know bringing their
video game machines to our house, so I moved my business
into a climate controlled storage unit one mile from the house.
After 5 years working from home it was exhilarating leaving
home to run my own credi response review. Details:
